What rapamycin does mechanistically
Rapamycin inhibits a protein complex called mTORC1 (mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1). mTORC1 is the central nutrient-sensing pathway that drives anabolic processes โ protein synthesis, cell growth, cell proliferation. When mTORC1 is active (you've just eaten a high-protein meal), the body builds new tissue. The risk framework
Rapamycin isn't a supplement โ it's a prescription medication with real side effects and meaningful risk profile. The current human risk picture for off-label longevity use:

- Mild lipid changes: rapamycin can elevate triglycerides and reduce HDL. Monitorable on standard panels.
